COVID19 PROTOCOLS:
ALL students have their own equipment or have equipment assigned to them.
By the nature of fencing, athletes should keep arm's length away from each other,
making fencing a COVID19 safer sports in which to participate.
Age is but a number.
Fencing is for Everyone who is looking for a fun challenge.
If you can walk, you can fence.
And, if you can't walk, you can do wheelchair fencing.
So, Yes, it's for everyone who wants to try!
Fencing is a parable for Life:
There is always someone out to get you. It's a matter of wisdom to know whether you should deal with them more offensively or defensively.
Fencing teaches this insight and wisdom.
Fencing is considered one of the SAFEST Olympic sports according to the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA).
Fencing is considered an 'Athletic Chess.
For every move there's a counter move.
There are studies that suggest that fencing can stave off the onset of Alzheimer's. Why? Because fencing uses our brain as much as your body.

Coaches Ted and Sara with cadet fencers Nigel and Liam.
Nigel finished 3rd in Cadet Men's Foil
Liam finished 2nd in Cadet and 8th in Y14 Men's Foil
Not pictured, Declan placed 3rd in Y10 Men's Epee.
Queen City ran a great event! We'll be back next year.
Max and Nigel finish 3rd and 2nd respectively at the Ann Chapman HS Tournament March 3, 2024.
Max mised the gold medal bout 14-15 fencing the best he had ever done!
Who says you're too old to fence? Coach Kass joined 5 other 'Veteran' (over 40 yrs old) fencers in the Women's Saber event. These women range in age from late 40s into mid 60s! Yes, and some of these 'dinosaurs' hardware home!
Nigel 'slayed' at the Laua Open in Pittsburgh 1/28/24 to earn his 'C24' iin foil. It's beautiful to watch these kids come into their own!
Congratulations to Liam for earning his E24 in Saber! 1st place at CFA's tournament January 20, 2024. This was his 2nd ever open event! Keep up the good work and personal growth!
Nigel and Coach Kass pose with their medals from the WRA Div 2 & Women's Epee tournament Nov. 5, 2023. Nigel won the open Foil. Coach Kass finished 3rd in Women's epee. Coach isn't an epeeist you say? Well, her fencing was described by one of her opponents as being 'a junkyard cat attacking a rabid dog'. She's a foilist with a saber problem who's been known to pick up an epee... and it shows.
